Las Ramblas is a tight course to play. The holes are designed so that in most cases you have to hit over ravines. Remember to bring a lot of golf balls for this course. This newly opened 6,394m course is fast becoming THE golf course on the Costa Blanca. On the 5th you must hit the ball onto an island green and the 17th is protected by a large lake. It costs a little more than average for the area but the experience makes it well worth while. A "must" to play. La Finca golf course is situated at the foot of Mount Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa, right in the heart of the Segura region. Designed to host top tournaments, La Finca golf course has the greatest variety of greens of any golf course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size from very large to very small. In addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event that one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.

Stunning views are part of the package with this 18-hole golf course. Situated on the outskirts of Alicante City at the back of the golden sands of San Juan beach, the course can be enjoyed year round. The complicated design, giving a par of 72, challenges the golfer with strategically placed lakes, ridges and undulating greens.
Home to many professional competitions including the Costa Blanca Challenge, the European Challenge Tour and The First Round of the National Professional Golf Circuit it attracts over 60,000 players each year. With a slope rating of 132 on the yellow bars, players can gauge how challenging it might be. The first nine holes are technical. Players have to clear three of the five lakes, whilst holes 6 to 9, with handicaps of 1 (par 4), 13 (par 3) and 3 (par 4) can make the difference to the best scorecard. Local golfers call these 3 'Amen Corner''!
The remaining 9 holes, also technical, require more strength to the stroke to combat the strong breezes that make it difficult to reach the green. Overall the variety to the course ensures plenty of interest and the wide fairways and palm trees ensure a pleasant environment. Open all year, the course has a driving range (covered and uncovered), 3 putting greens, a chipping area and 2 practice bunkers. Clubs can be hired and private lessons can be enjoyed in English, French and Spanish.

The El Plantio golf course is located just 5 km's from Alicante and has an excellent 18 hole course and a small 9 hole course . The 18 hole course was designed in the year 2000 by Manual Ferry and covers 75 hectares.
El Plantio is the only golf course in the Costa Blanca that has not included any property development around the course . This means it is a golf course free of surrounding buildings and perfectly intergrated into the natural surroundings, a fact which guarantees the absolute peace to play a round full of challenges.
Replanted with 45,000 mature trees, over 15,000 bushes and plants and over 500,000 m2 of grass, this area of semi-desert has been transformed into a beautifully lush course.

The Hacienda del Alamo championship 18 hole golf course, designed by Dave Thomas, is currently the longest course in the whole of Spain at 6 724 metres and tipped to host major tournament in the future.
Miguel Angel Jimenez announced the resort as "the new number one in Spain" after shooting a course record of 67!
With wonderful wide open spaces, bounded by mature palm, olives and almond trees, eight lakes and 84 well placed bunkers, this course is designed to test golfers of all abilities. The views from the elevated tees are stunning with the surrounding mountains and plains. The large greens are raised and guarded by deep bunkers.
The Golf Academy, 2 storey Driving Range, 6 hole practice course of 1252 metres and golf pro shop, provide excellent facilities. The Golf Academy uses new technology such as 'swing analysis' and video cameras.

ALENDA GOLF CLUB
ALENDA GOLF CLUB
Situated at the foot of the Sierra de las Aguilas mountains, the Alenda Golf Club has an 18-hole spread over a gentle terrain giving a par of 72. It's a varied course suitable for all skill levels and demands the full use of clubs. The tricky slopes in particular demand a good putting line due to the slope of the greens allowing for a variety of flag positions.
Designed by Roland Favrat and opened in 1999, the course provides a quick round, as all the holes are linked together and distances are short between the tees and the green. The first nine holes are medium length, on very wide fairways, and require accuracy rather than strength. For the last nine holes concentration is needed, on this technical part of the course accuracy is more important than distance. Particularly tricky are the 16th and 18th holes.
Full facilities can be enjoyed including a driving range (14 bays), chipping green and practice bunker along with the clubhouse services.

ALICANTE GOLF CLUB

On the outskirts of Alicante City close to the 7km San Juan beach is a modern 18-hole golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros and opened in 1998. Incorporating lakes and artificial rivers into the design has increased the difficulty rating of the course which has a par of 72, with six par 3's, six par 4's and six par 5's. It is a gentle course to walk around and its flatness increases the visibility; the greens on all the holes can be easily seen.
Of particular note is the 9th hole where Seve has taken license with an artificial lake, designed in the shape of an S, it gently curves around the green. Whilst on the 14th hole, golfers can enjoy having to clear the ball over a re-creation of Roman ruins.
Open all year (except Christmas) it has a driving range with 70 bays, chipping area, practice bunkers and putting range. Private lessons are also available for adults and children in English and Spanish.

Beginners Clinic.
This Clinic is designed for people who have never tried golf but would like to learn how to play the game. Topics covered are aim, grip, stance, alignment and posture, instruction on making the backswing, downswing and follow through. Short and medium irons are used for this purpose. Other items covered are : Teeshots, Chipping Shots, Putting, Basic Bunker play.
Improvers Clinic.
This clinic is designed for players who may have started playing recently and who want to improve their standard of play. Areas covered are : Back to Basics, Grip/Stance/Aim, Alignment/Posture, Long Irons, Fairway Woods, Approach and Chipping (basic), Bunker shots, Improve Putting techniques, Video analysis with DVD.
Advanced Clinic.
This Clinic is for the low handicap player and incorporates : Back to Basics, Grip/Stance/Aim, Alignment and Posture, How to fade and draw the ball, longer straighter driving, high and low ball flights (into the wind), Improved bunker play and putting, The scoring zone (100m and in), Playing lessons (course management), Video analysis with DVD.
